Just an hour's drive from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas sits one of the gems of the Southwest. Valley of Fire is a rocky desert landscape which burns a fiery red when lit by the sun. Over time, these red rock formations have created arches, slot canyons and colorful variations that provide endless photo opportunities.

With features like Paster Canyon, Rock of Gibraltar, Rainbow Vista, Fire Canyon, Elephant Rock and many more Valley of Fire is truly a landscape photographer’s delight. With its variety of desert animal and plant species the Valley Of Fire has a little something to catch every photographers eye.

Join me on a memorable trip to this colorful wonderland which spans more than 46000 acres. A photography expedition where we will be doing extensive sunset, sunrise and night photography. With focus on creativity and learning, this tour will help you to refine your eye and help you create a strong portfolio of some of the southwest's most interesting rock formations.

GENERAL ITINERARY

Day 1: We will leave for Valley of Fire, Nevada from Los Angeles at 9:00 am and reach there around 3:00 pm. We will check into our hotel and head to the state park for sunset and night photography.

Day 2: Sunrise photography followed by extensive scouting, sunset photography and night photography. Mid day - post processing and lunch break at our hotel.

Day 3: Sunrise photography followed by extensive scouting, sunset photography and night photography. Mid day - post processing and lunch break at our hotel.

Day 4: Sunrise photography and drive back to Los Angeles.

SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT
1. DSLR/Mirrorless camera (with option of manual adjustments for ISO, Aperture, Duration and focus)
2. Lenses - Wide angle and standard lenses (14mm and upwards) are preferred. Fast lenses f2.8 and wider are better suited for astro-photography.
3. Tripod (Must)
4. Filters - Polarizers, Neutral density and Graduated filters (whatever you have).
5. Memory cards & spare batteries
6. Lens cleaning cloth
7. Remote shutter release
8. Laptop (with Lightroom) for post processing
9. Memory card reader or a USB wire to connect with your camera.
10. Torch and headlamp (with red light)
11. Camera manual

This is a suggested list of items (not all are mandatory). Bring other items that you may have.

TRAVEL:
Travel is included in the tour cost. We will go together in a vehicle from Los Angeles. You can also drive on your own.

LODGING:
We will be staying at a nice hotel near the state park. Lodging cost is included in the total tour price.

FOOD:
We will carry some food and cooking provisions with us. Breakfast is included in hotel stay. Lunch/Dinner are not included.

FITNESS
This workshop is appropriate for photographers of average fitness levels. You should be able to walk distances up to 1/2-1 mile on slight inclines and rocks. Trails are considered easy to moderate (sandy paths, flat and uneven rock). It is expected for all participants to be able to carry their own personal gear and water during the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of photographers.

COST:
$ 975 inclusive of Travel, hotel stay and breakfast.
$ 300 advance for reserving your spot. Balance amount will be due 60 days prior to trip date - invoice and terms/conditions will be emailed.
